League play recently concluded in mixed doubles and singles at the Holiday Recreation Complex.

Under Donna French, Recreation Leader II for Pasco County, mixed teams played a double round-robin format in morning and evening sessions. Upper and lower divisions were scheduled in men's singles and one division for women.

At the conclusion of the singles league, a men's one-day singles tournament was held.

Concepcion Ledezma of New Port Richey finished first in the evening mixed doubles with Marie Maguire, in the lower-division singles league and won the upper-division singles title in the tournament.

Maguire and Ledezma avenged their one loss to second-place finishers Aida and Ranko Galeb in the second round of the six-team league.

Ledezma, 38, moved to New Port Richey two years ago and teaches at River Ridge High.

Finishing behind Ledezma and Maguire and the Galebs in the evening mixed league was Masha Galeb and Richard Grimberg.

Perennial winner Dale Thelan was again first in the upper-division men's singles league, followed by John Hutchinson and Gary Pittsenbarger. In the lower-division singles, Paul Scolaro was second and Tony Carico third.

In women's singles, winter resident Pat McMullen finished ahead of B.J. Haupt and Marge Kuhn.
