By Times staff writer Eckerd College4200 54th Ave. S St. Petersburg 864-8297 Delano Lewis, U.S. ambassador to South Africa from 1999-2001, will speak on Political Change and U.S. Policy in South Africa at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Dendy-McNair Auditorium. While with the Peace Corps from 1966-69, Lewis served as associate director in Nigeria and country director in Uganda. When he returned from Africa, he was named director of the Peace Corps' East and Southern Africa Division. He was president and CEO of National Public Radio from 1994-98. In 1997, he received the Distinguished Leadership Award and Media Spotlight Award from Amnesty International. Eckerd College Theater will present Dreamcatcher: Midsummer Night's Western at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and April 21 in the Library Courtyard at Hough Center. This adaptation of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream will be performed with a western theme featuring cavalry, pioneers and American Indian spirits. Admission is $10, $5 for seniors. Selected scenes from the play will be presented at 8 p.m. Friday in the Library Courtyard. Admission is free. Call 864-8279 for information and reservations. The International Student Association at Eckerd College will host a Festival of Cultures from 5-6 p.m. Friday at Hough Quad. International students will present the history, traditions, food, clothes and dances of their native countries. University of South Florida, St. Petersburg140 Seventh Ave. S St. Petersburg 553-3458 George Sherman, behavioral management specialist with Pinellas County Schools, will present a Campus Honor System Workshop at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Florida Center for Teachers, Room 118. Sherman will lead a discussion on values such as respect, responsibility, honesty and integrity and how they can influence positive cultural change. Representatives from the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections office will demonstrate the new touch-screen voting machines from 3-6 p.m. Saturday at the Poynter Library. Take this opportunity to try out the new machines and be prepared for the next election. The Society for the Advancement of Poynter Library will host its annual Book Fair from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Davis Hall, Room 130. Browse through more than 4,000 books available for sale. Proceeds will benefit the Nelson Poynter Memorial Library. University of South Florida4202 E Fowler Ave. Tampa As part of National Library Week, Merrily Taylor, head librarian at Brown University since 1982, will present Thirty Years in the Library: What I've Learned, What I Hope For and What I Wore at 3 p.m. Tuesday at USF's Tampa Library. Taylor is a USF graduate and has worked for the library systems at USF, Yale and Columbia. She will talk about how the role of libraries and librarians has changed and the challenges to come in the 21st century. Parking decals will be needed for the lecture and are available at the Campus Information Center on Leroy Collins Boulevard.
