Focus on volunteers

The 2002 Mainsail Arts Festival scheduled for this weekend at Straub Park along downtown St. Petersburg's waterfront, needs volunteers to sell T-shirts, posters and concessions, distribute brochures and help in the information booth. Call Mary Myers, 893-7886.

Volunteers are needed for the St. Anthony's Triathlon which will be held next weekend, April 26-28, in St. Petersburg. Help is needed to register athletes, assist on the finish line and monitor the course. For information, call the St. Anthony's Triathlon headquarters, 825-1271.

The Children's Home Society of Florida's Family Visitation House, 2731 13th Ave. N, St. Petersburg, will hold a training class on April 27.

The organization needs monitors for supervised visits as well as mentors for its parenting and teen programs.

The Family Visitation House is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday; evening and weekend hours are scheduled as needed. A background screening, at a cost of $32, is required. it is valid for five years. For information, call Connie Boone, 552-1487.
