By Times staff reports Port Richey man faces sexual battery chargeNEW PORT RICHEY -- A 46-year-old Port Richey man is facing a charge of first-degree sexual battery after a woman told New Port Richey police that he had sex with her while she slept, an arrest report said. The woman said she took prescribed sleeping and seizure medication on March 9. She said when she awoke, she found signs that someone had had sex with her, a report said. Carlos Alberto Osorio-Abello, 7434 Neva Lane in Port Richey, told New Port Richey detectives that he had sex with the woman but that it was consensual. He was arrested at 11:16 a.m. Tuesday and taken to the Land O'Lakes jail. He was being held Wednesday on $100,000 bail. Man accused of shooting into an occupied houseHUDSON -- A New Port Richey man was arrested Tuesday on charges that he shot into a house after throwing a board through the front window during a fight on Nov. 11, an arrest report said. John Desiderio, 21, of 8641 Broad St., faces two counts of firing into an occupied dwelling and one count of discharging a firearm in public. He was held Wednesday at the Land O'Lakes jail on $11,000 bail. Witnesses identified Desiderio as going to a house on Cornell Court in Hudson and getting into a confrontation Nov. 11, the arrest report said. Desiderio threw a board about a foot and a half long through the front window, the report said. When the residents of the home said they were calling authorities, they said Desiderio pulled out a .22-caliber handgun and fired one shot into the residence. The bullet went through a window frame and lodged in the living room wall. Former PTA president arrested on fraud chargeHOLIDAY -- The former president of the Sunray Elementary School Parent Teacher Association was arrested Tuesday on a charge of scheming to defraud. An audit turned up evidence she took money from the organization last year, an arrest report said. From April 14 to June 9, 26-year-old Wanda Lauwers used the PTA's checking account to buy $420 in gift certificates from Kmart and Wal-Mart, the arrest report said. She would then redeem the cards for personal items, the report said. Lauwers, of 3507 Norland Court, was taken to the Land O'Lakes jail, where she was released Tuesday on $1,000 bail. Man, 77, accused of shoving deputy twiceHOLIDAY -- A 77-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after Pasco County sheriff's deputies said he shoved a deputy twice while the deputy was at the man's home. Frederick Hutchings, of 4248 Kibler Lane, was arrested on a charge of battery on a law enforcement officer and obstructing police at his home at 11:19 a.m. Tuesday. Deputies were at Hutchings' home -- the arrest report doesn't give a reason -- and when a deputy tried to walk through an open gate, Hutchings pushed the deputy. The report said Hutchings did it again when the deputy tried to walk through the gate again and Hutchings closed and locked it. Hutchings was taken to the Land O'Lakes jail, where he was released on his own recognizance Wednesday afternoon.
