The Grande Ole Opry King Mackerel Sportfishing Tournament is Saturday and Sunday off the Harborview Center in Clearwater. Five hundred boats are expected to contend for $174,000 in cash and prizes. The fifth annual 24-mile Tampa Bay Marathon Swim starts at 7:30 a.m. Saturday and runs from the Sunshine Skyway bridge to Ben T. Davis Beach on the Courtney Campbell Causeway. In the past, the race has drawn competitors from across the United States and from as far away as England, Dominican Republic, Germany, India, Canada and the Cayman Islands. This year, 14 swimmers are expected to compete, including three-time champion Chris Derks of Miami and Kevin Murphy of London, who has swum the English Channel a record 32 times.
