Ex-custodian accused of sneaking into classroomBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published April 20, 2002 DADE CITY -- Police arrested a former Pasco Elementary School custodian and a 31-year-old Port Richey woman after the two were accused of sneaking into a portable classroom at the school and admitted that they intended to have sex inside, according to investigators. Victor Alexander Pates, 21, of Old Sparkman Road, Dade City, and Valerie Ann Gallo, 31, of Grove Road, Port Richey, face burglary charges after a patrol officer spotted them inside a classroom about 1 a.m. Thursday. Police reports said the two used Pates' key to get inside the classroom. Police Capt. Linda Fox said the two admitted that they went inside with the intention of having sex. Pates, honored in 1999 as a Pasco High School "Turn Around Student," no longer works for the school district. According to police reports, both were taken to the Pasco County Jail in Land O'Lakes. Records show Grove was not listed as an inmate at the jail Friday and do not indicate that she had been booked. Pates remained at the jail Friday in lieu of $10,000 bail. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • St. Petersburg Times
