Woman charged with making threat with knife

DADE CITY -- Officers on Friday arrested a 23-year-old Dade City woman who they say threatened another woman with a kitchen knife.

Katrine Michelle Hambrick of 37639 Howard Ave. was in an argument with the other woman, whom police did not name, about 8:45 p.m. Friday.

Officers said Hambrick grabbed the knife during the argument and threatened to cut the woman. They also said that during a call to the Dade City Police Department, Hambrick said she tried to cut the woman.

Hambrick faces charges of aggravated assault.

She was taken to the county jail in Land O'Lakes and was released Saturday after posting $5,000 bail.

Parents who lost children to discuss the drug GHB

The Pasco County School District is holding two programs for families who want to learn more about the drug GHB.

The programs, free to the public, are conducted by parents from Fort Pierce who recently lost children to the drug. The families have testified before Congress on the issue and now travel around the state educating parents about the dangers of GHB.

The first program will be held in the gymnasium at Gulf High School at 6:30 p.m. Monday. The program will be repeated at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mitchell High.
