You and your Internet access
By Times staff writer High-speed access to the Internet was supposed to be a can't-miss proposition. Experts assumed consumers would rush to sign up for cable or digital subscriber line service. Instead, growth in high-speed access has diminished and traditional, slower dialup connections still dominate the Internet access market. So we have some questions for our readers: If you switched to cable or DSL, has your experience been good, bad or ugly? What's good, and what's not so good? If you have a dialup connection, why haven't you switched? And one question for all: How much do you rely on Internet access? What happens if your service goes down? Send responses to techtimes@sptimes.com, and please include name, hometown and phone number.
