Wildlife and Western artists capture scenes few of us ever will experience firsthand. Leading practitioners of the genre will be on hand during the third annual Wildlife and Western Reflections Art Show on Saturday and Sunday at the Raymond James Financial Center, 880 Carillon Parkway, St. Petersburg.
The show, sponsored by Raymond James Financial and the Plainsmen Gallery of Clearwater, includes paintings, prints and sculptures by a group of artists that includes Al Agnew, David McGary, Larry Fanning, Luke Frazier, Mathew Hillier, Julie Rogers and John Seerey-Lester. Much of their work, such as Chassahowitzka Wood Storks by Charles Rowe, above, invokes Arcadian moments and a romantic wilderness that have more kinship with 19th century landscapes than 20th century reality.
Tours of the Tom and Mary James Art Collection, which contains a number of examples of Western and wildlife art and is housed in the company's headquarters, will be available during the show. Admission and parking are free.
Hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call (727) 726-5100.
