Prestige wins out over kindness and serenity

Re: Planners okay development on horse farm, May 5.

Millbrooke Station Stables has been one of the most well-kept, friendly places to keep your horse. The care and concern for the horses and their owners have been the primary concern over the years. Glamor, prestige and money have never been the top priority there. It's ironic, then, that glamor and money will replace the farm.

In years to come, I will not notice the houses and apartments put up in its place. I will remember the kindness, goodness and serenity of the farm and its horses. Good luck, everyone.

Truck beds aren't meant for people

Re: seat belts.

I saw a pickup truck recently with three small children riding in the back with no protection at all. Anyone who puts another person in the back of a pickup truck should be stopped immediately. Imagine if the truck hits a bump or is involved in an accident.

If you get stopped for a violation and you don't have your seat belt on you could be ticketed, but people are allowed to ride around with unbelted people in the cargo area of a truck.
