Man, 31, killed in crash on Bayshore Boulevard

TAMPA -- A 31-year-old city man died Tuesday afternoon when the car he was driving veered into oncoming traffic on Bayshore Boulevard, police said.

Shane Robert Grove of 6910 Interbay Blvd. was driving his 1996 Chevrolet south on Bayshore when he lost control of the car, jumped the concrete median and drove into northbound traffic, officials said.

The Chevrolet glanced off a Mitsubishi, spun around and was struck on the passenger side by a Dodge van. Grove was killed instantly, police said. There were no passengers in Grove's car, and no one in the other vehicles was hurt.

The crash is under investigation.
