Top 5 movies
By Times staff

1. Spider-Man -- Forget the calendar. Summertime at the movies has officially begun with the Marvel Comics webslinger making his record-setting debut at the box office. Extra popcorn, please.
2. Hollywood Ending -- Spider-Man's archrival for your attention is . . . Woody Allen? His latest slice of neurotic life concerns a filmmaker (played by himself) working while temporarily blind.
3. Changing Lanes -- Smartly produced thriller starring Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Affleck as motorists whose minor accident produces major consequences.
4. The Rookie -- Late-blooming pitcher Jim Morris (Dennis Quaid) beats the odds to become a middle-age major-league rookie for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
5. Camp in line for Star Wars tickets -- A week without showers, home cooking and a cozy bed would be more entertaining than almost anything else opening at theaters this weekend.
