WHEN: Field events start at 12:30 p.m. today. The 4x800-meter relay finals start at 1 p.m. Running event preliminaries start at 4 p.m. Running event finals start at 7 p.m.

AT STAKE: Medallions will be awarded to the top eight place-winners in each event. Boys and girls team championship and runner-up trophies are also at stake.

ADMISSION: $6; FHSAA passes only.

NEED TO KNOW: Mitchell freshman Jeff Masterson (3,200) makes the first of what should be four appearances at state, a warmup for state title battles to come. Look for him to top his personal-best of 9:46.57. River Ridge's Emily Ollivier is finally healthy after two years and ready to medal. Land O'Lakes' Dani Shimer ran a new school-record 2:23.40 in the 800 to win the region title. Ridgewood's Lizzie Sheridan runs in the last meet of her prep career. John Gilmore of River Ridge ran a school- and personal-record 10.56 in the 100 to place third at the region meet, but Jefferson's Andre Cladwell has raised the bar with a 10.39.
