Woman claims man threatened her with knife

NEW PORT RICHEY -- A woman told Pasco County sheriff's deputies that a man with a knife threatened her and tried to break into her house early Friday morning, according to a deputy report.

The woman said she awoke in her Lingo Court home about 4:15 a.m. because one of her children was making noise, the report states. She said she went into the kitchen to make a bottle and was standing at the sink when she heard a jiggling noise, the report states.

She said she spotted a man outside the window by the sink, the report states. She said he told her, "You'd better open the door or I'll cut you up."

She told deputies she didn't wake up her fiance because he needed to get up for work in a couple hours and needed his sleep, the report states. She told them she didn't know the man with the knife but that he resembled someone who asked her to buy him beer a couple months ago at a gas station.

She said the knife looked like a butcher knife but had a curved tip.

A deputy responded to her house but didn't find anybody.
