Good vibrations at Bayfront Center
There are two Beach Boys-related tours on the road right now: one with founding member Brian Wilson, touring Europe, and the Beach Boys tour headed by Mike Love. The version coming this weekend to the Times Arena at Bayfront Center for the Beach Boys Bayfront Blast Saturday is the one headed by Love, a cousin of Brian, Carl and Dennis Wilson and an original Beach Boys member.
Joining him will be Bruce Johnston, who replaced Brian Wilson in the group in the '60s and has been part of it off and on for decades; drummer Mike Kowalski, a member since 1968; keyboardist and guitarist Adrian Baker, a sometime-band member since the late '70s; Chris Farmer and Tim Bonhomme, who joined in 1995; and Scott Totten and John Cowsill, just added last year.
The Beach Boys kicked off this tour in February at the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
The show is at 8 p.m. Friday at the Times Arena at Bayfront Center, 400 First St. S, St. Petersburg. Tickets are $18-$50. (727) 892-5767.
