By Times staff reports Hudson man charged with attempted murderHUDSON -- A 37-year-old Hudson man was arrested on a charge of attempted murder after his girlfriend told Pasco County sheriff's deputies that he cut her with a butcher knife during a fight early Sunday morning. Anthony Erskine, 12908 College Hill Drive, was arrested at 12:14 a.m. Sunday after sheriff's deputies went to the couple's home. When the deputies arrived, they found Renee Jones coming out of the home with blood on her neck. Jones told deputies that Erskine hit her and spat on her, so she called 911. She said that when Erskine found out she had called 911, he grabbed a knife and stabbed her on the head. Jones was taken to Bayfront Medical Center by helicopter. Her condition was unavailable Sunday night. Erskine was taken to the Land O'Lakes jail on a charge of attempted murder. Warrants for his arrest were served in connection with violating a domestic violence injunction, violating probation and failing to pay child support. He was being held Sunday night without bail. New Port Richey man accused of fondling girlNEW PORT RICHEY -- A 42-year-old New Port Richey man was arrested Saturday night after witnesses told New Port Richey police the man fondled a 12-year-old girl and threatened several people with a machete, an arrest report said. Juan Guzman, 6423 Illinois Ave., No. 17, faces charges of lewd and lascivious conduct and aggravated assault. He was being held at the Land O' Lakes jail Sunday night on $15,000 bail. According to an arrest report, he fondled the girl at 8:20 p.m. Saturday and was confronted about it. Witnesses said Guzman then got the machete and threatened to cut everyone while waving it in the air.
