By Times staff reports Woman held in fatal cycle wreckA 30-year-old New Port Richey woman was arrested Monday in the March crash that killed a local motorcycle shop owner, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said. Danielle J. Spinazzola faces a charge of driving under the influence manslaughter, troopers said. On March 23 at 7:53 p.m. she drove through a stop sign on westbound Flora Drive and into the path of a southbound motorcycle on Alt. U.S. 19, troopers said. Gary Bruce Areson Jr., 33, who owned Joker Custom Cycles in Holiday, was thrown from his 1989 Harley-Davidson and killed. Troopers had blood drawn from Spinazzola at the time of the wreck. The resulting tests showed her blood alcohol level to be 0.128. Florida law presumes impairment at 0.08. Spinazzola was being held Tuesday at county jail in lieu of $20,000. Man faces charges in Wendy's crashHUDSON -- A man whose van careened through the Wendy's parking lot Monday faces several charges stemming from the wreck, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said. Driver Chad Deskins, 28, of 7649 Sea Pines Drive in Hudson faces charges of habitually driving with a suspended license, no child restraint, careless driving, unregistered motor vehicle and no insurance, troopers said. He was flown to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, where he was treated and released Monday evening, a hospital spokesperson said Tuesday. Troopers did not release the name of the young child in Deskin's van or the name of the other person flown to the hospital. About 1:25 p.m. Deskins was driving south on U.S. 19, hit the back of a Buick, ran off the road and slammed into four parked cars at Wendy's, which is at State Road 52 and U.S. 19.
