Burglar takes cash, property from Inverness Middle School
INVERNESS -- Inverness police say someone broke into Inverness Middle School and made away with an undisclosed amount of cash and property late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. Inverness police Chief Lee Alexander said an employee who arrived at the school at 6 a.m. Thursday alerted police to the burglary. Alexander would not say which parts of the school had been broken into or how much was stolen. Investigators from the Inverness police and the Citrus County Sheriff's Office dusted the area for fingerprints and collected other pieces of physical evidence, Alexander said. No suspects have yet been identified.
