By Times staff reports Connecticut man held on attempted murder chargeBROOKSVILLE -- A 23-year-old Connecticut man charged with fleeing to Florida on a charge of attempted murder was arrested early Thursday in Spring Hill. Acting on a tip about his whereabouts, deputies surprised Kahary Jamal Davis while he was sleeping in bed with his girlfriend inside their home at 14008 Kane Road, said Lt. Joe Paez, spokesman for the Hernando County Sheriff's Office. Davis, who is facing extradition to Connecticut, was taken to the county jail on $500,000 bail. Intruder ransacks cars at body shop, steals vanSPRING HILL -- Someone broke into a fenced compound at Justice's Hernando Collision in Spring Hill on Tuesday, stealing a van and burglarizing several vehicles parked inside. Hernando County sheriff's reports said the 1990 Ford Econoline van was stolen from the yard at 1190 Wendy Court after the suspect ransacked several cars, took a stereo from one and crashed into another. The suspect left a note signed "Bobby Diaz," saying he had borrowed the van and would leave it at County Line Road and East Street in Pasco County. The van was later recovered at that location, but deputies were trying to determine the suspect's identity, said Lt. Joe Paez, spokesman for the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.
