If you are evacuating, you should bring the following:

Pillows, blankets, sleeping bags or air mattresses

Extra clothing, sturdy shoes, eyeglasses, etc.

Personal hygiene items (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, contact solution, etc.)

Quiet games, books, playing cards and favorite toys for children

Important papers, including driver's license, medical information, insurance policies and property inventories

Note: Pets, alcoholic beverages and weapons will not be permitted inside Red Cross shelters

Should a hurricane threaten Citrus County, all residents west of U. S. 19 to 1 1Ú2 miles east of U. S. 19 must evacuate. Residents who do not have another safe place to wait through the storm should go to one of the shelters.
