The Italian deli will open in the Bayview Tower at 100 First Ave. S on June 4. "We are very excited about what is happening in downtown St. Petersburg," said owner Jerry Boucher. "I think everybody in the food business has looked down there at one time or another." The new deli will be smaller than the one at 860 49th St. N. In addition to its stock of deli items, Gioia will feature frozen dinners for workers to take home and some grocery items. Eventually produce will be added, Boucher said, making it look more like a market. He said he will be the only food service in the Bayview Tower, which was the William C. Cramer Federal Building until the federal government sold it in 1999 to a private developer who turned it into an office building. Project completed at Don CeSarST.
