Compiled from Times wires Hope turns 99Bob Hope turned 99 on Wednesday with an outpouring of birthday wishes and a new honor from the nation. On the occasion of Hope's birthday but without White House fanfare, President Bush signed into law a bill designating the chapel in the national cemetery in Los Angeles as the Bob Hope Veterans Chapel to salute his decades of service entertaining U.S. troops overseas. Hope, who is frail and was hospitalized briefly last year with pneumonia, did not make any public appearances. His wife, Dolores, attended the chapel dedication in Los Angeles. Lindh movie in the worksA movie on John Walker Lindh, the 21-year-old Californian captured with Taliban fighters in Afghanistan, is being developed to air on the FX cable television channel in 2003. John Romano, writer and producer of the Party of Five TV drama, has been hired to write the Lindh script, with the working title American Taliban. Eminem album debuts at No. 1Hip-hopster Eminem's new album, The Eminem Show, released Sunday, will enter the Billboard Top 200 chart at No. 1 next week with 284,534 copies sold in just 36 hours, according to figures released Wednesday by SoundScan, the music retail tracking system. The debut marks the first time an album has entered at the top slot without the benefit of a full first week on sale. At the Osbournes' ...NEW TV DEAL: Ozzy Osbourne and his family, who swiftly became cultural icons in MTV's most popular series ever, will open their home to the cameras again. MTV announced a second season for The Osbournes on Wednesday. The reality sitcom that depicted the addled rock star, his wife Sharon, daughter Kelly and son Jack drew nearly 8-million viewers at its peak. Wednesday's deal is for 20 episodes that will begin filming next month and air in the fall. MTV wouldn't comment on the financial terms. It is believed the family will receive $5-million for the season, with the potential to make much more. TOASTING THE QUEEN: VH1 has picked Sharon Osbourne, matriarch of the Osbourne clan, to help pay tribute to a royal matriarch -- Queen Elizabeth II. Osbourne will be the host of VH1's broadcast of the all-star concert celebrating the queen's Golden Jubilee. Osbourne's husband, Ozzy will perform at the June 3 concert, along with other music stars. VH1 is scheduled to air highlights from the concert June 9.
