Police looking for man who robbed Colonial Bank

ST. PETERSBURG -- Police are asking for help identifying a man who robbed Colonial Bank on Wednesday.

Detectives said that at 1:38 p.m., the man walked into the bank at 5858 Central Ave., handed a teller a note demanding money, and said he was armed.

Police think the same man, who is 45 to 50 years old, robbed the bank in March.

Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to call Detective Karl Sauer, (727) 893-4904.

Body found in gulf identified as 25-year-old

ST. PETE BEACH -- A man whose body was found floating in the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday has been identified as Thomas Ryan Hartman, 25.

The death does not appear suspicious, said St. Pete Beach police Detective Matt Ingolia, who is investigating it as an apparent drowning.

Hartman, formerly of Redington Beach, was released from the Pinellas County Jail on May 13 after he was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license and possession of a controlled substance.
