A super chance to meet a hero
Spider-Man isn't just at the movies this weekend. He will join Batman, Superman and other comics heroes at the Tampa Comic Book and Toy Convention, organized by Tim Gordon of St. Petersburg, above.
Artists from comics giants Marvel and DC Comics will be on hand, as well as those from CrossGen Comics, the two-year-old Oldsmar company that already is No. 5 in the comic book industry. CrossGen will be accepting submissions at the convention.
Fans also will get a chance to meet Mart Nodel, creator of The Green Lantern. And, of course, there will be superheroes in costume.
The convention takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Holiday Inn Express, 4732 N Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa. Admission is $3. For more information, call (727) 522-9032.
