ART EXHIBIT: A show called "People, Places, and Things" featuring acrylics and watercolors by Kelly Miaoullis Harvard, will be on display Saturday through June 29 at the Tarpon Springs Cultural Center, 101 S Pinellas Ave. Harvard, a resident of St. Petersburg, studied water media with Judi Dazzio, and watercolor with Toni Young, earned her B.S. degree from the University of Tampa. She won an award from the Florida Watercolor Society. Each of her paintings develops from a personal interpretation of her interest in color and shape and her enthusiasm of working with the media. A meet-the-artist reception will be from 1 to 4 p.m. June 22. Exhibit hours are 9 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Admission is free.
THE FOLK ART OF FLORIDA: Judy Schmutzer will talk about pine needlework, Seminole dolls, alligator carvings quilts, and pottery of the 19th and 20th centuries at 10 a.m. Saturday at Heritage Village, 11909 125th St. N, Largo. JAZZ: The Tarpon Springs campus of St. Petersburg College will host a free jazz concert featuring Dan McMillion and his Jazz Orchestra from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday. The college's "Jazz in June" event will take place at the campus' outdoor amphitheater at 600 Klosterman Road. The Mike McArthur Group also will play. Audience members are encouraged to bring a picnic basket, blankets and lawn chairs. Sodas, hot dogs, lemonade, candy and popcorn will be for sale. No alcohol is permitted.
CHORUS: The Clearwater Chorus, directed by Arthur Goetze, will present its choral arts concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 2001 Rainbow Drive, Clearwater. The program will feature John Rutter's newly published collection of American Spirituals, Feel the Spirit, as well as Frostiana, a musical adaptation of Robert Frost's poems by Randall Thompson. A NIGHT OF SOLO JAZZ: Smooth jazz saxophonist/vocalist Stacey Knights will play the Largo House of Jazz at 8 tonight. Knights performs pop jazz to smokey blues tunes.
