Suspect arrested in bank robbery

ST. PETERSBURG -- Police have made an arrest in Wednesday's robbery of Colonial Bank at 5858 Central Ave.

Robert A. Kurtz, 37, was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of bank robbery. Police received tips leading to Kurtz after his photograph appeared in media reports about the robbery.

Detectives say Kurtz walked into the bank Wednesday afternoon and handed the teller a note that said he was armed and wanted money. No weapon was seen.

Police also think Kurtz robbed the same bank in March.
