SPRING HILL -- The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the man who died in a car crash Friday on State Road 50 as Vinson B. Lucas of 13015 Lola Drive in Spring Hill.
Lucas, 35, lost control of his 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue while traveling east near Deltona Boulevard. Two children, Kadi Lucas, 6, and Jonathan Lucas, 10, were injured in the crash and flown to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. They remained in the pediatric wing Saturday. A hospital spokeswoman would not release their condition.
Lucas changed from the inside to the outside lane and lost control of his car, according to an FHP report. He traveled back across the inside lane, across the median, into the westbound lanes, flipped over several times and then landed in a ditch. Lucas was pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m.
