LARGO -- Twenty teenagers ages 14 and 15 will be selected to participate in a six-week program designed to teach them how to create a resume, develop references and participate in mock interviews. The teens also will create and publish Largo's Pocket Guide to Urban Walking Trails. The program, funded by a grant from the founder of Palms of Largo Intergenerational Community Foundation, will be from June 17 to July 31 and meet from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Those who complete the program will receive color copies of their resumes, a program shirt and a $300 gift certificate to a department store. Applications are available at City of Largo Outreach sites, Bayhead Teen Center and Largo Community Center. Applicants must have a Largo Recreation, Parks and Arts membership card. Preference will be given to Largo residents who come from single-parent families and can show evidence of having looked for a job in the past few months. For information, call Mike at 518-3131. Participants will be notified of their selection by June 14.
