East Lake's Greg Cummings, a second-team all-county basketball pick, has committed to West Point while teammate Dalen Cuff will play at New York's Columbia University. Cummings, a 6-6 center for East Lake who will play forward in college, will likely attend a prep school before enrolling at West Point according to Eagles coach Joe Bloznalis. Cuff, a 6-3 guard, was one of the county's best outside shooters and can play the point. Bloznalis said Cuff, who averaged 17 points and 7 assists last season, was sold on Columbia after an April visit.

In 56 innings, he struck out 70 batters. Dunedin coach Tom Hilbert said that Garris could also hit at HCC. He batted .459 in limited action at the plate, but showed some power with five doubles and drove in 11 runs.
