Paul F. Sireci, who spent the past seven years as chief of police at Memphis International Airport, has been appointed police chief at Tampa International Airport, replacing L. Warren Bennett, who retired in February.
Sireci, 50, who holds degrees from Nova University and the University of South Florida, has Florida policing experience.
Before moving to Memphis, he was a division commander at the city of Naples' Department of Public Safety.
Sireci will head a force of 64 law enforcement officers -- which must expand to 74 by November to accommodate security requirements -- 57 traffic specialists and 19 dispatchers and clerical personnel.
