DANCE FOR AMERICA: The Brooksville Dance Academy will have a dance recital at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Central High School auditorium, 14075 Ken Austin Parkway, west of Brooksville. The event will be dedicated to the heroes of Sept. 11. Tickets are $8 for adults; $6 for seniors and children 12 and younger. Call 799-2614.

BUTTERFLY WALK: There will be a butterfly walk at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Chinsegut Nature Center north of Brooksville. The event is free; participants are encouraged to bring binoculars. EUROPE IN OIL: The work of Spring Hill Art League artist of the month Audrey Coy will be on display through June during business hours at the Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative, 10005 Cortez Blvd., Spring Hill. PATRIOTIC CONCERT: Patriotic Concert, a Tribute to Our Country will be presented by singers from First United Methodist Church of Hudson and others at 4 p.m. Sunday. Singers are from All Saints Lutheran, Community United Methodist Church, King of Kings Lutheran, St. Martin's Episcopal Church and First United. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.
OPERA APPRECIATION: Guiseppi Verdi's Otello will be discussed and a video of the opera viewed at 12:30 p.m. June 14 at Centennial Library, 5740 Moog Road, 1.2 miles east of U.S. 19, Holiday. Singing the title role is Placido Domingo; Desdemona is sung by Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, with Russian baritone Sergei Leiferkus as Iago. Admission is free. Those who attend should bring a seat cushion.
ARCHERY WORKSHOP: The Chinsegut Nature Center will have an introductory archery workshop from 9 to 11 a.m. June 18 at the center north of Brooksville.
