COMEDY IN THE CANYON: Comedian and musician John Charles will perform at Rock Crusher Canyon's Garden Pavilion today. Tickets are $18 and include a buffet dinner. Doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner served from 6 to 8 p.m. Performance is from 7 to 10 p.m. Rock Crusher Canyon is at 275 S Rock Crusher Road, Crystal River. From U.S. 19 just south of downtown Crystal River, turn east on Venable Road; go 2 miles to Rock Crusher Road and turn right. The entrance is on the left. A BUTTERFLY WALK will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Chinsegut Nature Center north of Brooksville. The event is free; participants are encouraged to bring binoculars and insect repellent. Take U.S. 41 north of Brooksville 7 miles, then turn left on County Road 476 and go 1 mile. The nature center is on the left side of the road. For information, call (352) 754-6722.

SUNSET-MOONRISE ON SUNSET BEACH in Tarpon Springs at the Music on the Beach concert at 7 p.m. Thursday. Performers are Dog and Pony Show, an acoustical musical group. Those who attend may bring snacks, dinner, drinks (no alcohol), friends and neighbors (no pets). Admission is free, but the Sand Dollars bucket will be passed for contributions. To reach Sunset Beach, take Alt. U.S. 19 to Tarpon Springs, turn west on Martin Luther King Jr. Street just south of downtown, veer left at the end of the street onto Whitcomb, curve to the right around the bay to Gulf Road, then go west all the way to the end of Gulf Road (you'll pass Tarpon Springs High School on the left) to Sunset Beach. Entry and parking are free. Restrooms are open during the event, and covered pavilions by the road are available.

SUMMER HOURS have been announced for the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art, 600 Klosterman Road, Tarpon Springs. The museum will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays; and closed on Sundays and Mondays. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and free to students and young children.

THE WOMEN OF THE SHEPHERD CHORAL will perform Songs of Summer at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center, 324 Pine St. Admission is $12. Call (727) 942-5605 for tickets.

GUISEPPI VERDI'S "OTELLO' will be discussed and a video of the opera viewed at 12:30 p.m. June 14 at Centennial Library, 5740 Moog Road, 1.2 miles east of U.S. 19, Holiday. Singing the title role is Placido Domingo; Desdemona is sung by Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, with Russian baritone Sergei Leiferkus as Iago. Admission is free. Those who attend should bring a seat cushion.

AUDITIONS FOR the British comedy Run For Your Wife will be at 7 tonight and 1 p.m. Saturday at Stage West Community Playhouse, 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. Singers are from All Saints Lutheran, Community United Methodist Church, King of Kings Lutheran, St. Martin's Episcopal Church and First United Methodist. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.
