Racing tonight at Sunshine SpeedwayBy RYAN BOYLE© St. Petersburg Times published June 8, 2002 WHAT: Short-track action in the Cops vs. Outlaws event, as well as the Open Wheel Modified, Figure 8, Street Stock, Mini Stock and Enduro classes. WHEN: Grandstands open at 5 p.m., and racing is scheduled to start at 7. WHERE: 4500 Ulmerton Road (State Road 688). ADMISSION: Adults, $10; children 6-12, $4; children under 6, free; parking, free. NOTES: The 911 Racing Series meets Sunshine Speedway's Outlaw Late Models in a free-for-all. 911 Racing, comprised of Florida emergency personnel, competes at many state tracks to raise funds for children's charitable causes and to have fun. This will be only the Series' second race since being rained out at Orlando Speedworld in April. In keeping with the spirit of the event, all fire fighters, police and emergency medical personnel will be admitted free with valid identification.
