DUNEDIN -- The body of a man was found floating in Hurricane Pass on Saturday morning, and authorities are investigating his death.

The body was found near a sandbar between Honeymoon and Caladesi islands. Pinellas County sheriff's detectives did not know the cause of his death, said sheriff's spokesman Cal Dennie. They were investigating the possibility of suicide.

The man's name was not released Saturday because the Sheriff's Office was attempting to contact his next of kin. An autopsy will be performed today.
