No-hitter sends Pin. Park National to title game

Pinellas Park National secured a place in the District 5 senior baseball championship game late Friday, by shutting out Azalea 2-0. Kyle Griffith tossed Pinellas Park National's second no-hitting in three games, striking out 11. Northwest and Pinellas Park National play the championship Monday at 8.

In District 12, West Pasco forced a one game showdown with Palm Harbor on Friday 4-2. Jessie Guthrie pitched a complete game and struck out six for West Pasco. West Pasco scored its runs in one inning, on singles by Joel Schroeler and Colter Redak. West Pasco and Palm Harbor square off again Monday at 7 at Carpenter Field in Clearwater.

MINOR BASEBALL: Pinellas Park National defended its District 5 minor baseball championship late Friday by defeating Cross Bayou 2-1. Chris Elliott pitched his second complete game of the tournament, and Jeff Niven and Billy Keeph scored the runs.

JUNIOR BASEBALL: Northeast advanced to the District 5 championship game with an 11-1 win against Southwest on Friday. Chris Gutierrez went 2-for-3 with a double, triple and two RBIs for Northeast. Ryan Luker got the win.

In District12, West Pasco No.1 defeated Largo National 10-4 on Friday night to win the Tournament of Champions.
