This weekBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published June 21, 2002 WINDY CITY JUSTICE: The musical Chicago will be performed Thursday through Sunday until June 30 at Playhouse 19, 865 U.S. 19 S, Crystal River. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $15. ART DISPLAY: The Nature Coast Painters will be displaying their works at the Frame Warehouse, 599 SE U.S. 19, Crystal River, through July 22. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Free admission. LOOK AHEADHOMOSASSA BLAST: The Revolutionary River Blast will be held June 29 at various sites along the Homosassa River. The event has activities at Kibbie's Dockside, the Seagrass Grill and other riverfront restaurants. A fireworks show will cap off the event at nightfall. Free admission and river taxi. PATRIOTIC EVENING: Inverness will host its Patriotic Evening, a salute to Independence Day, beginning at 6 p.m. July 3 at Wallace Brooks Park. The event includes musical entertainment, games, food booths and a fireworks show. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. Free admission. CRYSTAL RIVER FIREWORKS: Crystal River will have a fireworks display at nightfall on July 4. Other activites at Hunter Springs Park are still in the planning stages. SAM JAM: The Uncle Sam Jam will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. July 6 on the Courthouse Square in Inverness. Music by Eddie Shannon & Company. Events include a decorated bicycle parade at 5 p.m., games, locomotive rides, a sand pile coin dig, car show and pie contest. Free admission. Food vendors on site. Sponsored by the Olde Towne Merchants Association. PUPPETS: The Bits 'N Pieces Puppet Theatre will perform The Ugly Duckling Starring Pinky Flamingo at 2 p.m. July 9 at the Citrus County Auditorium on U.S. 41 S at the fairgrounds in Inverness. Free admission. Sponsored by Citrus County Library Services. QUICK TRIPSTHE BIG THREE: Love, Sex and the I.R.S., a comedy, continues at Show Palace Dinner Theatre, 16128 U.S. 19, Hudson, through June 30. Shows are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; 1:30 p.m. this Saturday; and 3 p.m. Sundays. Doors open two hours before each show for buffet and cash bar.
