As you already know, Americas' Sail 2002 will bring seven tall-masted ships and many visitors to St. Petersburg next week, including a Brazilian navy ship and the U.S. Coast Guard barque Eagle.

The vessels are to anchor off Egmont Key by Wednesday. A Tall Ships Captains Party is scheduled for 5:30-8:30 that evening at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, 11 Central Ave.

Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres are the bill of fare for the event, which is open to the public. Tickets cost $50 and are available in advance or at the door.

Saturday night, at the Don CeSar Beach Resort and Spa, race awards will be presented at the Captains Ball, a black-tie optional event that begins at 7:30. Tickets for the dinner and dance are $150 each.

For reservations to both events, call 825-3797.
