Man attacked with bat is released from hospitalBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published June 27, 2002 A 40-year-old man who was taken to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point with massive head injuries after a baseball bat attack on Tuesday morning was released that night, hospital staff said Wednesday. Pasco County sheriff's deputies found George Vincent Siana lying on the living room floor inside a trailer at 7424 Cahill St. in Port Richey about 4 a.m. Tuesday, sheriff's reports said. Reports said Siana refused to answer deputies' questions about who had assaulted him. Jerome Preston Houck, the 59-year-old old man who called 911 to report the assault, said he did not know who had attacked Siana and himself, reports said. Houck told deputies he was sleeping when he was hit over the head and did not see the attacker or attackers. Houck said he was hit with a baseball bat, reports said. Siana was in critical condition with massive head injuries when he was transported to the emergency room at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, reports said. But hospital staffers said Siana left the hospital at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Pasco sheriff's detectives still are looking for suspects in the attack on Siana, which they're calling an attempted homicide. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • Tampa Bay Times
