Alliance cancels plans to hear bids from foster care providers

INVERNESS -- The Shared Services Alliance has canceled plans to hear from two agencies interested in taking over foster care and related work from the Department of Children and Families. The alliance, whose members are social service providers, will advise the DCF on which agency to select. But proposals aren't due until Sept. 16, and the alliance, heeding the department's advice, decided not to schedule formal presentations until all interested agencies had a chance to seek the contract.
