By Times staff reports Arizona warrants lead to arrestNEW PORT RICHEY -- A 27-year-old Hudson man was arrested Thursday in New Port Richey on multiple warrants from Arizona, including first degree attempted murder. Pasco County Sheriff's deputies learned from the Pima County Sheriff's Office in Arizona that Aaron Paul Agregaard of 6904 Sanderling Lane was wanted on several warrants. Agregaard faces charges of first degree attempted murder, aggravated assault, sexual assault, kidnapping and burglary in the second degree and being a fugitive from justice, reports said. The incident that resulted in the charges against Agregaard occurred in Arizona in December 2000. Pasco sheriff's spokesman Jon Powers said it's unclear how long Agregaard has been living in Florida. Pasco deputies learned of the warrants on Thursday morning, Powers said. They found Agregaard just before noon on Thursday while he was working as a flag man for a road construction project at Oleander Drive and Jasmine Drive. Agregaard was transported to Land O' Lakes jail. He was being held Friday without bond, and will be extradited to Arizona, Powers said. Man faces assault, gun chargesNEW PORT RICHEY -- A 21-year-old Hudson man was arrested in New Port Richey early Thursday morning after his ex-girlfriend told deputies he came to her home and pointed a gun at her face, Pasco Sheriff's reports said. Stuart Edward McCray of 6490 Fair Lane faces charges of domestic aggravated assault and carrying an illegal firearm. Stephanie Steward, 18, told deputies that she answered a knock on her door at 2 a.m. Thursday and saw McCray holding a handgun. When he saw her, he raised the firearm and pointed it at her face, she told deputies. Two witnesses agreed with her account, reports said. Reports said McCray denied that he had been at Steward's home. McCray was taken to Land O' Lakes jail, and was being held Friday night in lieu of $20,000 bail. Sunken car found in turtles' pondHUDSON -- A woman who took a break to watch turtles in a pond next to her office on Friday instead spotted a car submerged in the water. Gerry Goulette, an employee for Dr. Thomas Armbruster, called deputies shortly after 11 a.m. to report the sunken car. Pasco County Sheriff's Lt. J.B. Jackson said an inflated air bag made it difficult to determine whether anyone was inside the car. A sheriff's dive team arrived in the afternoon, and found no bodies at the site. Sheriff's deputies are investigating how the car ended up in the pond.
