How to freeze fresh berries
Compiled from Times wires

To freeze fresh berries or diced fruit for later use, place the fruit in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet lined with wax paper.
Freeze for at least two hours.
Remove the fruit from the paper, transfer to a resealable container and freeze for up to three months.
Freezing individual pieces first prevents the fruit from becoming one massive chunk of colored ice.
Remember: All food should be safely handled before it goes into and after it comes out of the freezer.
