Second bid made for mosquito board Seat 2

INVERNESS -- Henry "Hank" Hemrick has become the second candidate to seek Seat 2 on the Mosquito Control Board. Hemrick of Inverness joins Greg Biance in the race. The board controls a district created to fight mosquitoes in Citrus. Members serve four-year terms.

Pollen report: Fungus spore count is high

LECANTO -- The Citrus County Health Department completed its weekly pollen count Wednesday. The count, conducted in accordance with standards of the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology, showed tree pollens registering low while fungus spores were high and grass pollens were in the moderate range.
