EVENTS

COACH BILL BROOKS BASKETBALL CAMP: At Powell Middle School Gymnasium, noon-4 p.m. July 24-26 and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. July 29-30. Includes skills tests, awards and trophies, 3-on-3 tournament, rules clinic and pizza party. The cost is $75 per participant, or $70 if two or more from the same family. JUNIOR GOLF CLINICS: At Sherman Hills Golf Club, Thursday evenings and Friday mornings through August. Classes focus on basics, short game, full swing and rules and etiquette. Clubs are available. Open to students 8-17. The cost is $10 per hour, and classes are limited to eight. Sign up in the pro shop or call (352) 544-0990.

CRYSTAL RIVER ROTARY TRIATHLON SERIES: The USA Triathlon-sanctioned event is the final of three in the series. The race -- a quarter-mile swim, 15-mile bike ride and 3-mile run -- is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Sept.1 at Fort Island Gulf Beach, at the end of Highway 44 west, 9 miles west of U.S.19 in Crystal River.
