One day after saying he was not sure where he would play, former Florida guard Orien Greene transferred to Louisiana-Lafayette.
Greene visited Louisiana-Lafayette, which plays in the Sun Belt Conference, and New Orleans and planned to visit Clemson and Missouri.
The former Mr. Florida started 30 basketball games as a sophomore last season, averaging 5.2 points and making a team-best 61 steals. Greene said he wanted a place similar to his hometown, Gainesville.
"Basically it's a small town like (Gainesville). They've got good programs, school and basketball. I'm a small-town guy, and I wasn't looking for a big city. I just felt very comfortable. It felt like a family."
Greene must sit out the 2002-03 season and will have two seasons of eligibility.
