Camp out

Celebrate the Fourth of July weekend with a Patriotic Salute to Families featuring an old-fashioned barbecue dinner, overnight campout, family games, entertainment and a night hike through Moccasin Lake Nature Park. Reservations and advance registration are required. Bring your own tent to camp outdoors or bring sleeping bags, blowup mattresses or large quilts to spend the night in the classroom. Admission is free for children under 2. The cost is $5 for ages 2-3, $25 for ages 4 and older. The park is at 2750 Park Trail Lane, Clearwater. For information, call (727) 462-6024.

Art show and reception

We Pots, Pottery By Women For Women, will mark the remodeling of its Clay and Paper gallery with an art reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Painted Fish, 350 Main St., Dunedin. We Pots features unique, colorful pieces of handmade pottery by Gail Snively, Beverly Childs, Kim Lemonakis, Susan Vey and Delores Fortuna. To jazz up the evening, musician Greg Smith will play contemporary and classical tunes. Complimentary refreshments will be served. The exhibit will continue through Aug. 18. POSTHUMOUS ART SHOW: Richard Giganti, a former hair salon owner and graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York, had planned to display his oils and egg tempera artwork at the Tarpon Springs Cultural Center but suffered a fatal heart attack in March. His family decided to go ahead with the show as a tribute to him. From 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, there will be a reception. The exhibit, called Richard's Passions, will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the center, 101 S Pinellas Ave. Call (727) 942-5605.

CELEBRATING BREW: The Dunedin Brewery will celebrate the third annual American Beer Month with an all-day party from 11 a.m. to midnight Saturday. Handcrafted beer, including a special summer brew, Apricot Wheat Ale, will be available on tap. Entertainment will be provided by ICON and Bullseye and the Ladykillers. VIDEO SERIES: The Gulf Coast Museum of Art will show The Mark of the Maker at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday in the auditorium. The museum is in Pinewood Cultural Park at 12211 Walsingham Road, Largo. Museum admission prices are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors over age 62 and $3 for students with valid identification. COMEDY: Sticky Nutz and the Charming Hooligans will present Poison Arm Samurai, an all-new comedy revue, at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Royalty Theatre, 405 Cleveland St., in downtown Clearwater. SUNSETS AT PIER 60: Celebrate the end of the day with a festival of arts, crafts and entertainment two hours before and two hours after sunset at the Pier 60 Pavilion, Clearwater Beach. Tonight, it's Hammerhead (rock); Saturday, it's Deja Groove (funk and blues); Sunday, it's Sarasota Slim (blues). Admission is free.
