Palm Harbor National defeated Largo National 12-1 in District 12 Minor baseball Friday. Gerg Kohlof had three hits and Larry Lanni pitched four innings for the win. Lanni also had three hits.
MAJOR BASEBALL: In District 12, Nick Johnson struck out seven in Oldsmar's 3-1 win over Largo American. Johnson tossed a complete game and drove in two runs with two doubles.
Frankie Ferguson pitched a complete game and struck out 12 in Countryside's 4-1 win over Hudson. Nick Gigliotti drove in two runs, including the game-winner.
Timely hitting by Gabe Torres helped Safety Harbor National defeat Largo National 3-0. Garrett Lopt got the win.
In District 5, Azalea defeated Northwest 10-4. Kyle Smith had two hits and drove in three runs. Jordan Wilson also had three hits.
JUNIOR BASEBALL: Charles Mason pitched six shutout innings in Southwest's 5-1 victory over Seminole in District 5. John Sacino and Chris McLaughlin drove in two runs. McLaughlin also had two hits.
In District 12, Clearwater American defeated Dunedin National 4-3. Ryan Talner pitched a complete game, allowing three hits. Edmon Rakipi had a hit and two RBIs. Nathan Kmet hit a ground-rule double.
Jedd Ludlow tossed four shutout innings and allowed two hits in Palm Harbor National's 9-1 win over Safety Harbor. Tony Ancona had a home run and four RBIs. Matt Klibanoff drove in two runs with two hits.
MINOR SOFTBALL: In District 12, Courtney Pavlock pitched a one-hitter with 15 strikeouts in Palm Harbor's 8-4 win over Safety Harbor. Maddie O'Brien went 3-for-3.
JUNIOR SOFTBALL: Safety Harbor pitchers combined to allow four hits and one walk in a 17-2 win over Oldsmar in District 12. Rachael Kallen drove in four runs.
In District 5, Cross Bayou defeated Gulfport 11-5. Amber Lanese and Rachael Harmeyer combined to allow only two walks. Lanese struck out seven in three innings.
