Police reports
By Times staff writer Detectives hunt for armed robberPasco County sheriff's detectives are looking for a man they think robbed two Pasco County businesses at gunpoint this week. They think the same man is responsible for a Sunday evening armed robbery at Washerteria, a Port Richey dry cleaning and laundry company, and a heist at the Victory Circle Pub in Hudson on Tuesday morning, Detective Jim Browning said. The robber is described as a 30-year-old white or Hispanic male, about 5 feet 8 and 200 pounds. Witnesses at the first robbery said the man had a black beard and mustache. At the second robbery, he had just a mustache. He wore a bandana on his head and carried a silver handgun during both robberies. He was last seen driving a maroon van with white stripes. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Browning at toll-free 1-800-854-2862, ext. 7815. Car burglars hit Holiday vehiclesHOLIDAY -- Someone broke into at least eight cars in Holiday late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, Pasco County sheriff's reports said. On Thursday morning, several Holiday residents reported car break-ins. A cell phone, compact discs, stereo equipment, a speaker and a camera were stolen, reports said. Several of the auto burglaries occurred in the Holiday Gardens community, including incidents on both Dawn and Victoria lanes, reports said. "Typically, when there's a number of car burglaries in an area, they are related," sheriff's spokesman Kevin Doll said. "Not always. But usually."
