Lt. Col. Curtis Heydt, son of Lucille and Curtis Heydt of South Pasadena, has accepted a command chaplain position for U.S. Army Special Forces Command at Fort Bragg, N.C. He will oversee and direct the ministry provided to Army Special Forces deployed worldwide.
Air Force Capt. Christopher G. Putnam, son of Maryanne Stein of Largo and John Putnam of Asheville, N.C., graduated from U.S. Air Force Weapons School, Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas. A 1988 graduate of Seminole High School, Putnam earned a degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Florida and a master's degree in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Ariz.
He lives with his wife, Mary Anne Stuckey, and their two children in Columbia, S.C.
Alicia Parnell, daughter of Kathy and Larry Parnell of St. Petersburg, graduated from a Primary Leadership Development course at Fort Stewart, Ga., qualifying her for promotion to the rank of sergeant. A 1998 graduate of Dixie Hollins High School, Parnell is scheduled for deployment to South Korea in August.
Airman Brian Stajkowski, son of Dana and Dennis Stajkowski of St. Petersburg, graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. A 1998 graduate of Gibbs High School, he attended St. Petersburg College. He is receiving computer technical training at Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Miss.
