Army Pvt. Dennis D. Hill Jr. has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is the son of Dennis and Kelly Hill, Tampa. Hill is a 2001 graduate of Hillsborough High School.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Joseph N. Carey has graduated from the surveillance technician course at Luke Air Force Base, Phoenix. The airman is a surveillance technician assigned to the 729th Air Control Squadron at Hill Air Force Base, Ogden, Utah. He is the son of Myriam V. Lehr, Virginia Beach, Va., and grandson of Myriam Lehr, Tampa. Carey is a 2001 graduate of Leto High School.

Air Force Airman Lindsay M. Dunlap has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate's degree through the Community College of the Air Force. She is the daughter of Debra and Thomas Warmoth, Tampa. Dunlap is a 2001 graduate of T.R. Robinson High School.

Army Pvt. Brad Baker has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky. He is the son of Dedra Baker, Valrico, and Steve Baker, Tampa. Baker is a 1999 graduate of King High School.

Thomas G. Garner has joined the U.S. Army under the Delayed Entry Program. The program gives young men and women the opportunity to delay entering active duty for up to one year. He is the son of Peggy J. Garner, New Port Richey, and Thomas Garner, Tampa. Garner is a 1985 graduate of Leto Senior High School, and he received a degree from West Florida Baptist Institute, Pensacola, in 1999. He has reported to Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla., for basic training.

Air Force Airman William R.D. Borges has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate's degree through the Community College of the Air Force. He is the son of William Borges, Orlando, and Elizabeth Borges, Tampa. Borges is a 2000 graduate of Riverhills Christian School.

He is the son of Migdalia Travieso, Valrico. Travieso is a 2002 graduate of Durant High School and has reported to Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo., for basic training.

Army National Guard Pfc. Jacqueline D. Rupert has graduated from the information systems operator-analyst advanced individual training course at Fort Gordon, Augusta, Ga. She is the daughter of Michael J. and Aracelis Rupert, Tampa. Rupert is a 2001 graduate of Hillsborough High School.

Army Pvt. Jennifer M. Willie has graduated from the information systems operator-analyst advanced individual training course at Fort Gordon, Augusta, Ga. She is the daughter of Judy M. and Peter J. Willie, Riverview. Willie is a 2001 graduate of East Bay High School.

Army Pfc. Derek Bennett has completed AIT training at Fort Gordon, Augusta, Ga. He is the son of Diane Bennet, Tampa. Bennett is a 1999 graduate of Robinson High School.

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Danny R. Gonzalez II is serving a six-month deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Gonzalez is assigned to the attack submarine, USS Tucson, which is stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He is the son of Danny and Gladys Gonzalez, Tampa.
