Knights ladies auxiliary names new officersBy CAROLYN HOPKINS, Times Staff Writer© St. Petersburg Times published July 19, 2002 New officers of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, Father Felix Ullrich Council 5869 of Port Richey have been announced. Marti Spurgeon will serve as president. She will be assisted by Angie I. Conti, vice president; Marianne Lofaso, recording secretary; Marie Nuzzo, treasurer; Rima Totino, inside guard; and Anne Calabrese, Nettie Strine and Josephine Cirincione, trustees. Appointed officers are Sylvia Contillo, chaplain; Terry Bonanno, parliamentarian; Anna Trapani, membership; Wilma Keosaian, historian; Marty Loncaric, publicity; Louise Ottaviano, sunshine; and Fran Pintus, welcome. The Ladies Auxiliary promotes sociability and friendship among its members and provides support for the Knights in community charities and activities during the year. Any woman, married or widowed to a Knight, is invited to join the auxiliary. The auxiliary meets at 7:30 p.m. the first Monday of the month. Saturday seminar focuses on starting a business"How to successfully start up a small Florida business," is the theme of a seminar to be conducted by Pasco Hernando Score Chapter 439 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Score office, Bank of America building, 6014 U.S. 19, New Port Richey. The seminar will cover the fundamentals of applying for a county business or occupational license, a company name and state sales and federal employer ID numbers. Course fee is $15. Group helps people get electric wheelchairsMiracle on Wheels makes electric wheelchairs available to nonambulatory senior citizens 65 and older, usually at no out-of-pocket expense if they qualify. The electric wheelchairs are provided to those who cannot walk and cannot propel a manual wheelchair in their home or independent living quarters and who meet the additional qualifications of the program.
